Rafting in Kiulu River suits for those who is seeking for a mild adventure and relaxing tour with the rapids between grades 1 to grade 2.
After rafting, Turn your world upside down when you visit this unique house in Tamparuli – literally! The ‘Rumah Terbalik’ (which translates to Upside Down House) is the first of its kind in South East Asia.
Take a leisurely boat cruise along the Tamau River with scenic view of mangroves and secondary forests which inhabit the curious-looking Proboscis Monkey and other wildlife.
The cruise lasts for 1 ½ hours and ends as the sun sets and daylight fades into dusk and finally night time where you will be able to watch fireflies lightens up the mangrove tree by the end of the cruise.
Depart from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu and proceed to Kiulu river located at Tamparuli area.
(journey takes 1 hour to 1 ½ hours drive)
Arrive at the starting point.
Safety briefing will be given by Riverbug professional river guide and signing of Liability Release form.
Excursion takes about 1 ½ hours to 2 hours to the ending point.
Arrive ending point.
Freshen-up and ready for buffet lunch.
Depart for Upside Down House, approximately 30 minutes’ drive. Upon arrival briefing by in-house guide and enter the house thereafter. Refreshment will be served at the restaurant after the tour.
Depart from Upside Down House and continue journey to Tamau.
Upon arrival at Tamau Base, you will be greeted and light refreshment is served.
Arrive at Tamau and start the river cruise for 1 hour and 45 minutes in search of Proboscis Monkey and other wildlife along the riverbank.
Buffet dinner will be served among the glittering lanterns that light up the area.
Catch glimpses of fireflies slowly lighting up and decorating the mangrove trees (if weather permits).
End of tour. Along your way to the coach, you will be accompanied by the crickets happily singing to wish you safely home.
